GMISS

Taiwan is known for its advanced medical technology and resources. To pursue the World Health Organization’s goal of “Health for All”, Taiwan is willing to share its experiences with the world and to provide support for countries in need. The Global Medical Instruments Support and Service Program (GMISS) is sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to donate usable medical instruments and offer technical training to assist developing countries in improving their health services.

The GMISS Program was jointly established by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and National Taiwan University. Since 2005, GMISS has donated more than 7,400 units of sophisticated equipment to 38 countries in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and Central and South America. These donations serve to improve the quality of care in medical care facilities.
