Thanks to recent New Southbound Policy, whose mission covers sharing resources and providing healthcare, both fitting into our vision in the Global Medical Instruments Support & Service Program (GMISS), we are honored to facilitate this donation project of sending new hospital beds to Vietnam in 2018. The project consists of joint efforts from Optima Healthcare, a company in Taiwan which provides new hospital beds, and Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation that offers new mattresses, with total value of NTD$ 825,000 or USD$ 27500. Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation also applies for free charity container space from Wan Hai Lines to deliver the beds to Vietnam, from where Chen Yung Memorial Foundation and Mylai Peace Foundation take over and help distribute the beds to remoted areas in Vietnam, bringing comfort and welfare for local people.

On November 28th, 2018, in a general hospital in Huyen Son Tinh, Vietnam, donation ceremony and press conference of medical equipment from Taiwan took place thanks to the participation of Chungming Lu, Senior Secretary, Dept. of Biomedical Engineering, NTU Hospital, Chinying Wang, CEO of Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation, and Yuyong Deng, current Deputy Governor of Quang Ngai in Vietnam. The ceremony was simple and discreet. Deng extended sincere gratitude to the Taiwan's efforts in sending over 30 new electronic hospital beds, which are of practical value when compared to existing old iron beds and promised that they would cherish and take good care.

Among these beds, twenty of them have been sent to a general hospital in Huyen Son Tinh, while the other ten to ICU and senile care units in Huyen Son Tinh Health Center by the end of October, 2018. The Deputy Governor also said that the donation illustrated genuine friendship and care. Regarding the severe lack of medical resources in Quang Ngai, he looked forward to future donations and support from Taiwan. Senior Secretary Lu and CEO Wang then replied that we would provide professional assistance whether in physician training or equipment. In addition, thanks to collaboration with independent NGOs, we not only increased exchange and interactions with global NGO groups, but also improved bilateral relations through sharing healthcare resources. Last but not the least, the Vietnamese representatives took a group photo with Noordhoff Craniofacial Foundation, Chen Yung Memorial Foundation, Mylai Peace Foundation and GMISS staff, marking a perfect ending of the ceremony.
