Gratitude to Wan Fan Hospital for Another Donation
2006-08-31
In response to the survey sent out earlier this year by the GMISS Program to teaching hospitals and regional hospitals in Taiwan, Taipei Municipal Wan Fang Hospital replied in July with an offer to donate several medical equipment. The GMISS staff conducted an on-site inspection in August, and the items for donation were confirmed as the following: one ultrasonic nebulizer, one obstetric diagnostic table, two mucus extractors, and 28 X-ray viewboxes. The GMISS expects to obtain the donated items at the beginning of September.

Wan Fang Hospital has remained a warm supporter and generous donor to the GMISS Program, and this donation marks the second one this year. In May, Wan Fang Hospital donated a number of items including a ultrasonic nebulizer, a suction unit, a resuscitator, wheelchairs, and X-ray viewboxes. After the GMISS ran a match against received requests for medical equipment, it was decided that part of the Wan Fang Hospital donation would be given to Mongolia, including wheelchairs, X-ray viewboxes, and the ultrasonic nebulizer. Because Mongolia uses a different voltage (220V), alterations were made by the GMISS to the converters of the X-ray viewboxes and the ultrasonic nebulizer. The items for donation were cleared by customs for shipment at the end of July and arrived in Mongolia in late August. Much gratitude is due to the generosity from Wan Fang Hospital for the completion of this donation to Mongolia.
