Please propose needed equipment or describe the institution’s requirements in a message forwarded through diplomatic channels to the Taiwan embassy or representative office, or to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Upon receiving the application, the GMISS team will check its data bank for available items, replying with a letter explaining the conditions of the donation and asking applicants to confirm. Although the GMISS team can help with preparing shipments, recipients are expected to cover freight costs and to complete local customs formalities.

About GMISS

Global Medical Instruments
Support and Service Program

Taiwan is known for its advanced medical technology and resources. To pursue the World Health Organization’s goal of “Health for All”, Taiwan is willing to share its experiences with the world and to provide support for countries in need. The Global Medical Instruments Support and Service Program (GMISS) is sponsored by the Ministry of Health and Welfare to donate usable medical instruments and offer technical training to assist developing countries in improving their health services.

The GMISS Program was jointly established by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and National Taiwan University Hospital. Since 2005, GMISS has donated more than 8,000 units of sophisticated equipment to 39 countries in Africa, the Asia-Pacific region, and Central and South America. These donations serve to improve the quality of care in medical care facilities.
